Tracie, we (opinionated, rational humans) LOVE YOU.
And I miss the old website. That commentor (commentator? What is the proper term?) is a disservice to the phrase “circle jerk” (because that shit sounds awesome). He’s being awful. I imagine smug satisfaction, spilling over crossed arms and a mean, little erection.
Fuck that person, you are a fan-goddamn-tastic writer. While there is a blurring between 20th century male and female accessorization (new word?), nail art does exist for its own purpose. For afficionados to enjoy. Last time I checked, the subscribers of “Cigar Afficiando” aren’t looking to entice someone to fuck the Cubans they purchased. Unless they get off on the idea of their dicks committing treason
Pot Psych is a fav too!

The Jezebel editor who sent me hate e-mail because I thought her defense of using the words “nigger” and “faggot” was unacceptable is a racist? Shocker.
First of all, I don’t send “hate email.” I may get flippant or terse or maybe slightly cunty, but never hateful. Because you have to care a lot to hate something. And I tend to be apathetic about a lot of things. This person is either outright lying or being an extreme drama queen.
If you don’t like what I write, that’s fine. If you don’t like the way I look, that’s fine. If you don’t agree with my opinions, that’s fine. If you hate me—even if you’ve never met me—that’s fine, too. I understand.
Look, I know I can be abrasive or divisive and I’ve definitely put my foot in my mouth and talked out of my ass on more than one occasion. But I am neither a bigot nor a racist. That post I wrote on my old website (which is no longer up), using the words “nigger” and “faggot,” was not a defense of hate speech, but rather, a part of something that I wrote about language and context. (I personally believe that words are words and should be used as such. I hate “n-word” or “c-word” or whatever. This isn’t network TV, it’s the fucking Internet. Say the fucking word, motherfucker.) The irony is that what I said was taken completely out of context.
My point then, and now, is that people can say whatever they want. But just because you say something, it doesn’t make it true. So don’t lie about me to play a part in some bullshit Tumblr circle jerk.
